Originally drifting its way onto PC in April 2015, developer Codemasters took the plunge into rally simulation for the first time. So I’m pinning my hopes on the next game in their Rally series.Available on the Oculus Store today (and via an update for the existing Steam version), DiRT Rally is the latest driving game to receive a VR makeover with Oculus Rift support. Unless porting to VR2 is easy, I doubt it will happen. I joined in the chorus of fans on their forum begging them to reconsider. I was a huge fan of DR1 and when they announced DR2 would not come to PSVR1 I was deeply disappointed. I also wonder if there is any chance Dirt Rally 2 would get a PSVR 2 port. Presumably they would have the final word on creating a WRC VR game. I just haven’t looked into what they have (or haven’t) done in the VR realm. One thing I’m totally clueless about is EA’s stance on VR. I’m super happy they have the WRC license (although the last few WRC games from Klytonn were actually pretty good in terms to courses and physics). But I’m crossing my fingers.ĭirt Rally 1 and 2 are for me the best racing games I’ve ever played. I know it’s way too early to be confident in that.
Seeing folks on the GTPlanet forums post about pre-ordering PSVR2 because of the early positive reception the GT7VR is getting made me wonder if PSVR2 could become the go-to platform for VR sim racing games. Game Discussions Previous AMAs PSVR Dev? Send us a message!.
